Hiya! I’m Destinie, and I’m obsessed with movement.

If you've landed here, there's a good chance your body isn't feeling great. Maybe you're dealing with chronic back pain, the aches and stiffness that come with sitting at a desk all day, or you're simply frustrated that your body isn't keeping up with the life you want to live.

I've been there.

I was born and raised in San Francisco but left for sunnier days at UCLA on a D 1 rowing scholarship. Years of intense training left me with bulging discs at L4, L5, and S1, torn labrums in both hips, and debilitating low back and hip pain.

After graduation, I started a career in finance, where long hours at a desk only made things worse. Getting into marathon running and long-distance triathlons didn’t help either (whoops). I developed Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and plantar fasciitis, and by 25, I'd been diagnosed with chronic pain. My body was a mess and my mental health was, too.

I eventually underwent surgery to repair my right hip labrum and began working with an incredible physical therapist in Los Angeles who incorporated Pilates into my rehabilitation. After just a few sessions, I regained full mobility in my hip, and the pain I'd lived with for years was gone.

When I moved back to San Francisco, despite trying everything—physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, you name it—my low back pain moved home with me. So I met with an orthopedic surgeon, who recommended Pilates to strengthen my core and support my spine. Having recovered once before using Pilates, I committed to the work again. Over the following months, something shifted. My constant pain became intermittent, and for the first time in years, I felt hopeful that maybe one day I could feel “normal” again. After a year of a dedicated practice, my chronic low back pain finally subsided.

That experience changed the course of my life.

I didn't just want to keep doing Pilates—I wanted to understand why it worked and share the magic with others looking to understand their bodies more fully.

I left finance and enrolled in one of the oldest, most comprehensive teacher training programs in the country: The Pilates Center Advanced Teacher Training. After 950 hours of training under two exceptional teacher-trainers in San Francisco, I finally understood why I'd experienced so much pain in my early twenties.

That was only the beginning of my movement education.

Since then, I've earned a Master of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, completed Level I and II certifications in the MELT Method, and attended dozens of movement seminars, lectures, and continuing education courses. Every course I've taken, every certification I've earned, and every client I've worked with has reinforced the same belief that guides my teaching today: understanding your body changes how you move, and changing how you move changes how you live.

So if your body is limiting the life you want to live, let me help you understand why and develop the movement skills to do more of what you want to do.
